In 1948 Bert Sebastian had a tremendous idea: open a family restaurant that serves great food at a reasonable price. He had no experience in the restaurant business, no blueprint from which to build his restaurant. But he had one guiding principle--create the kind of restaurant he would be proud to take the Sebastian family to. Bert built his restaurant, and the public loved it. In fact, Bert's Bar-B-Q was such a success that he soon outgrew his original restaurant and opened the Wooden Indian .

Today, the Wooden Indian is still based on the principles Bert Sebastian built into his Bar-B-Q almost half-century ago. Here, you and your family can dine in a relaxed, casual setting on such favorites as hot roast beef and hearty ham and cheese sandwiches. But while our food and service are based on yesterday's high standards, our menu also reflects today's more cosmopolitan taste--one bite of our blue cheese and mushroom 'burger will tell you that. And as families have begun to eat lighter fare, we've kept pace--with crisp, refreshing salads and flavorful yet health-conscious broiled fish and poultry dishes.

But save room for dessert. Our cakes and pies are legendary, and our old-fashioned soda fountain treats are second to none.
